Instructional Design

This award winning* WebQuest ï»¿is designed for students (pre-service teachers) in the Computers in Education course at Indiana University. It guides students to understand unique characteristics of the digital natives, come up with appropriate instructional strategies for their future classroom, and create an animated movie using a text-to-movie tool called Xtranormal to present their ideas.

This WebQuest demonstrates the following competencies:

- Knowledge of project-based learning

- Creating instruction and assessment by practicing the ADDIE process

- Web design skills

* The WebQuest has been selected for the 2011 NSU award for Outstanding Practice by a Graduate Student sponsored by the Association for Educational Communications & Technology (AECT).

I have taken a part in an initiative by the AECT Definition & Terminology Committee to create an Encyclopedia of terminology of the educational technology field.
The project demonstrated the following competencies:

- iPad Application design skills

- Knowledge of inquiry-based learning and learner's needs

In order to design a learner-centered personalized learning environment that is enriched by technology, I believe that I need to possess certain instructional design competences.
